Still haven’t done real core exercise this week, nor weights. But as I forecast in the weekly summary prognostication / look forward, this week, work was going to be a royal pain in the butt with how much I needed to do. And, that’s what I’ve had to focus on.
For example, tonight was another night where I had repeating alarms going off every few minutes, and I finally made it down to the elliptical at 11:21pm to get in my 40 minutes and make sure I was there enough to close my rings. Before starting, I was tempted to stop as soon as I closed them all. I didn’t because I fortunately chose stuff to listen to and then watch that took me to 38.5 minutes, so I just kept on another 90 seconds to get my goal of 40 minutes of cardio a day, 5 days per week.
I’ve also noticed that this whole meal planning well in advance is really nice on days like today. In my plan I have everything in red, and I just make the text black as I consume it. I don’t have to think about what I am going to eat next really, it’s there, so I don’t have to worry about calorie nor macro totals because I’ve already planned it out.
To wit, I’m also in an odd part of the 6-weeks-per-shopping-trip cycle where the “extras” are getting to be an odd balance because the meals are slightly less balanced. Today, for example, was 40 grams of almonds. That’s a huge amount of fat (21.1 gms, or 36% of my goal). Yet, the biryani has little fat, the one piece of chocolate had some fat, but it was less than the two pieces of string cheese. And tomorrow I get two bags (1 oz) of Doritos®! That’s because I’m low on fat again, but because I’ll only be eating biryani for one meal, it’s a low-meal-carb day, so I can have the carbs from the Doritos® in addition to their 16 gms of fat.
Later this week is pad thai, which is one of the highest-carb dishes I make due to the pound of rice noodles for 8 servings, but unlike last time, I’m not having it for lunch and dinner on the same day. I’m spreading it out, balancing it with salad, so I don’t end up hating my food because I can’t eat any other carbs … like last time (end of April, before I started this blog — basically, two servings of pad thai leaves me with 11.6 gms of carbs left for the entire day … so, basically I get to eat cheese, pepperoni, egg whites, and a protein shake in addition to it … which sucked).
