Daily Summary: 17 June, 2020

Well then … that was interesting.

I left a large amount of the day open because I didn’t know what my mom would want for her birthday dinner. Once I got it into my system, along with the birthday pancakes for breakfast, it put me way over on carbs and calories and fat, especially with a slice of birthday cake. I cut out all other carbs for the day but it was a bit too late to make much of a difference. And I feel crazy-bloated now.

At least I got in exercise? Dinner finished at 7:45pm and I was out the door by 8:20 to repeat my walk of yesterday (though I zig-zagged a bit to make it slightly longer), and then I swam in the pool longer (very leisurely swim). I got 91 minutes of exercise according to my watch, so again I’m moving around more at my parents’ house than home. And, my VO2 max went slightly up again … 32.3 instead of 32.16. I don’t really trust anything to the right of the decimal point, but the trend I’m seeing is a good sign.

I know that one day – or even one week – isn’t going to kill things, and I have the tools and seem to finally have the motivation to keep going. But, it’s still a bit frustrating. After my note about Monday being hard to fit in so many calories that were protein and not fat/carbs, and after yesterday and today, I think I’m done on this resetting my system thing. I have modified food the rest of the week to gradually come back down: roughly 2000 calories tomorrow, and then 1600–1700 Friday and Saturday. I should still end the week perfectly fine on calories and macros, though weight might’ve increased.

And I still haven’t done weights … but I have yet another all-day telecon tomorrow!
