Daily Summary: 24 June, 2020

Today was an almost full day of work, but we were done by about 6pm but I had to keep checking in for more stuff to do. But, that meant I could finally get out and do at least some sort of exercise, so I walked around the pseudo-MIL’s loop twice, plus the cul-de-sac in order to get at least 40 minutes. I had a much faster average pace than usual, of 9 minutes 32 seconds per kilometer, but that’s because it was almost perfectly flat. Total elevation gain, going twice through the ~2 km loop, was just 35 meters.

But, that was fine with me, and I think I finally got a “fair” VO2 max measurement, and it was slightly higher than last week at 32.47. Assuming the trend at least is real, it’s very, very slowly going up. Slowly as in, it won’t be until next May–July (2021) that I hit 35.0–35.5, which based on one source, is finally “Fair” for my age group. That said, I found another source that shifts my age group to 36–45 years old and says that 31–33 is “average” while 34–37″ is “above average.” So … who knows? Regardless, I am too out of breath doing basic things, so it needs to go up.

Oh, and food today was fine.
