According to one of my scales, I was down to 212.0 lbs this morning, which is 15 lbs down from my peak of 227.0. That’s 15 lbs in 75 days, or 5 days/lb, or 0.2 lbs/day, on average. Though I’m still in a bit of catch-up phase from the last two weeks. With a goal for this cut of 170 lbs, I’m (rounding) and saying I’m 3/11ths of the way there.
This also puts me close to the next mile marker of 16.4 lbs lost, which is the second-most I’ve ever been able to do in one cycle (as in, doing “the fitness thing” until I give up). Last time, it took me 212 days to get there, and that was back in 2008. In broader context, I have not lost more than 13.9 lbs in one cycle in over a decade.
With motivation still there, I don’t feel a need for this, but I thought it might be a good time to guilt Future Me into not giving up, if I do reach that point. So, here’s what it’s taken to get where I am now, don’t let that time go to waste! (or, to waist)
- Significant restriction on food that I really, really wanted to eat.
- Over 40 hours of just cardio exercise.
- Hours upon hours spent logging things and planning and obsessing over goals. And blogging about it.
- Sweating. π₯΅
- Telling other people, so there’s now at least a little expectation on their parts that I’ll reach my goals.
- Physical pain after working out.
- Time spent doing all of that stuff when I could have been doing other things.
Now, all I have to work towards is losing my next 5 lbs. One bit at a time makes for a manageable goal. π
