Let’s g’head and do a “daily” update for all the days this week, now that I got the infographics made. Some of this will be a bit of a repeat of the last post, but some new. I like this because it gives me a visual overview of what I did, and it certainly focuses on food given that weight is lost in the kitchen by PUTTING DOWN THE FORK!!
Sunday was my first experiment with cinnamon-sugar scones, coming on a day with low carbs, otherwise. I also did weights. Monday we had some left-overs, and I caught myself snacking on some not-so-healthy cereal. Tuesday I buckled down on my grant proposal so did not do weights, but I still stayed pretty close to my food goal, while Wednesday, I tried to make the cinnamon-sugar scones again but in a different shape because they didn’t quite work the last time. I also did weights and updated the blog.
Thursday was final-read-through-of-grant-proposal-day and I had trouble focusing, which leads to snacking, so I grabbed the spinach that I had left-over and munched on that. Extremely healthy and filling snack that I didn’t really like so it made me want to stop eating. Which, I guess, works. I did the same thing on Friday, and I used a regular meeting I have at 9:15am on Fridays to do weights, so that was nice. Well, nice that I double-dipped, and nice that I did weights.
After going to bed before midnight, and with the bf, three days in a row, I was up at 8am though didn’t get out of bed until 9am. Took time to pressure wash the front walkway, then it was out grocery shopping, including a stop by the hardware store. Hence the doughnut. After five hours out of the house, it was back home to start dinner. Before today, I had never owned cast iron cookware, but I needed it to make pita bread. Before today, I had never made chicken shawarma, pita bread, nor tzatziki (which I don’t like, but it went with dinner and the bf likes it). All of that was a fairly involved dinner, yet if you limit yourself to one pita, it was only 520 cal, 20 gms fat, 43 gms carbs, and 41 gms protein. Not bad.
Otherwise, I spent several hours today with my new hole saw, doing some bins for the re-do of the hydroponics. The old one was experimental and the tomatoes just ended up taking over, and now one Queensland blue squash is taking over all of that. So in a few weeks we’re going to rip that all out and start over with two racks instead of one, with stuff better spaced out and more “like” things together. And a hole saw really makes things a lot easier than cutting with a blade by hand. (For those who don’t know much about hydroponics, you make a hole in your pipes or bins or whatever that’s slightly smaller than a net pot with your plant, and then you put the net pot in.
So … I managed to eat within my budget, did weights three times, cook four new things, and I’m starting to get my sleep schedule to something normal. Decent week.
