To get one thing out of the way first: There is another asterisk on food today because I had a pouch of chana masala as another stress eat and I’m letting myself get away with it. Yeah, bad start to things, but again it is recorded, and I can go back and easily include it.
Otherwise, food was pretty well done today. I think the Thai three-chili fried rice might make it into my regular rotation of, “When the boyfriend wants fish or steak, this is what you can make.” Though it needs a bit more soy sauce. That aside, the only thing new on the food is the chicken I mentioned I prepped and set aside on Sunday that would normally go in a wrap, but I just have in the ‘fridge to eat. And I figured I was good on carbs today so I should start eating the blueberries that are 10 days old.
Moving on to exercise, it was close to being another, “eh, I’m not going to do it” day. But, I sucked it up and was watching the outdoor temperature (got almost to 90°F today) and time for sunset and after wiping down the boyfriend’s car interior with Clorox, I loaded my bike and drove down to the mailboxes (note 1: he drove his car so he could get COVID meds on Sunday, so I wanted to wipe everything down; note 2: my car doesn’t fit my bike; note 3: I live half-way up a small mountain on a dirt road and was NOT going to bike up 450 ft of dirt road with 25–30% grades; I still had 80 m / 260 ft of elevation gain during the ride, but at least it was paved and <10% grade. It was still a pretty intense bike ride for me, my average heart rate was 153 and I maxed out at 176 bpm.
For work-life balance, I did manage to get a few hours of work done today, which was good because I had a corrupted disk in the basement and lost a lot of stuff that was fortunately almost entirely backed up.
So, with that said, the cats are yelling at me to come to sleep with them, in the boyfriend’s absence / quarantine, so, as the French say, a-doo.
