I decided early on today that it was going to be a recovery day (the recovery day) for the week. Weight was slightly down, but that’s just a hopeful sign. Having a pounding headache or two hours tonight cemented that resolve.
I mentioned that Friday night into Saturday morning, I decided to get back to filled chocolates and tried making some caramel-filled chocolates. Try #2 was blueberry ganache -filled semi-sweet chocolates, Saturday night into Sunday morning. Try #3 was the same thing but strawberry and a mix of dark and semi-sweet chocolate. Turned out well, taste-tests were required. But, since each one is around 50 calories, I was able to stay below my goals while still meeting my protein requirements and so begins the week of going below my goal to try to get through the plateau!
… which of course is a week that I’m starting out with no exercise for a rest day. π€
I also spent a bit of time re-doing the meal plan yet again since we’re now three days behind on where the plan was supposed to be, so I’m cutting things out; trying not to cut out the stuff that I bought specialty ingredients for. And trying to plan what I’ll be eating during my conference: Trying to emphasize protein so that I have room left for the snacking I know I’ll be doing.
Otherwise, I got 2 hrs of work done today: Reconciling budgets! Yay! I’m one of the few people in my office (maybe just me and one other person?) who keep track of every cent they bring in, have, and spend. It’s the only way to get an accurate spend plan, figure out when my funding cliff is so when I need to write new grants, what I can support in terms of other people, etc. I only had three projects I needed to update, but it’s been more than a year, and several peoples’ raises to figure out (we’re not allowed to know what other people make, unless they tell us, but it’s easy enough when they’re the only person who works on my grant in a pay period and I see how much money is subtracted from said grant). My student was also asking how many hours they had left on one particular project. So, that’s that.
Now … to get to bed before midnight and not at 2am again!
