Passed Second-Most Weight Lost, Eyeing New Personal Record

Today I was down to 210.4 lbs. That’s still a lot, but it’s still 30% of the way towards my goal.

But, it’s down 16.6 lbs from my peak of 227.0 lbs, and that means that I’ve now passed my second-most-weight-lost-in-a-single-try record of 16.4 lbs back in 2007–2008. Lo those 12+ years ago, it took me 212 days to reach that goal (though it was before I knew what I know now, and I went from 174.5 to 158.1 lbs … it’s generally easier to lose weight when you have more).

Self-sabotage aside of explaining why this isn’t as big a deal as I’m making it out to be, losing the weight this time has taken 80 days instead of 212, for an average of 0.2075 lbs/day. Which is also slightly faster than my weight loss back in 2019, which had been my previous record speed of 0.200 lbs/day.

Perhaps just as – if not more – important is that I am not feeling a lack in motivation right now, either. Still going strong. Which also means that within ≈1–2 weeks, I expect to blow past my all-time record of 18.5 lbs lost in one go.

Helping the motivation is that I am actually catching up on my goal weight after the 2 weeks of making no progress (but not really sliding too much backwards) during my travel to the midwest. And, this morning I measured my bodyfat percentage and it was down yet again, slightly more than my week-over-week goal, putting me ahead of next week (so even if I go up slightly this-to-next-week, I’ll still be on track there. That means that, so far, I’ve lost 1.4 lbs of lean mass, but 12.9 lbs of fat, for 90% of weight loss being fat. That makes me happy. 😁
