
So, I lifted weights on the 07th, and when I woke up on July 08, my left knee was hurting. This is a knee that in November of 2018 started to randomly pop when going upstairs, and then after working for 18 hrs straight it suddenly started to hurt so badly I could barely walk. It still sometimes pops, but I generally have thought that it’s a weight issue and not something really serious. It hadn’t hurt like this in maybe a year.
So I tried to take it easy and only did the elliptical at the last minute (11pm) and had to take it easy. It wasn’t hurting as much after about 15 minutes.
But, then hell kinda broke loose (for me) because my driver’s license is going to expire and I can’t renew it in time. So, basically, my birthday was mid-May, we got a 2-month extension due to COVID-19, then I went to Ohio and Michigan, and figured I’d make an appointment to go in within the next week. I can’t renew online because it’s been 10 years and they require a new photo to comply with the Real ID Act. When I looked before we left, appointments were available next day, but I figured better to be safe and still isolate before visiting parents ≥69 years old. Problem is now that no place in Colorado except on the other side of the state has available appointments before next Thursday, after my current license expires. So, I’m kinda screwed and have to have my bf drive me on Thursday.
In reality, it’s not a huge deal, there’s only an issue if I let it go for ≥1 year with respect to issues renewing it. But, I can’t drive and have to have someone else drive me. And it’s embarrassing. And it kinda ruined the rest of my evening on the elliptical, I went to bed upset, and I’ve been pretty “blah” for all of today.

So, that, combined with my knee, combined with wanting to get up again at 4am to try to photograph the comet all means I did no exercise today. I still ate within my plan, in fact I was below the max on my plan with respect to everything, but I didn’t exercise. I’m thinking when I get up at 4am, I’ll do the comet, do weights, and then go back to bed until a 9:15am meeting.
Oh, and work today was just “delightful.” 🙄 I’m basically in a 90% writing phase now with a lot of stuff due over the next two weeks (papers, grant proposals).
That said, weight is still down, closing in on <210 lbs, which would be 1.8 lbs lost so far this week (max-min). But, with the average weight last week at 213.1 lbs, my average so far this week is 210.9, so week-over-week I’m already at 2.2 lbs down, which is almost a record. I’ve done 2.4 lbs twice, and 2.5 lbs down once. So, we’ll see how the week rounds out.
