Daily Summary: 10 July, 2020

Today was a mixed bag. Scratch that, today was a success! I got some work done, I ate within my calorie limits, I hit within my macro goals, and I did exercise including weights and cardio. Gold star! 🌟

Okay, now let’s re-examine that a bit. I spent a lot of time cooking today. An hour for dinner, and I spent over an hour making ice cream (we were running low, but had lots of eggs and cream). I also got up again at 4am for comet photography, and so had to take a nap again this afternoon. I was too tired to do weights at 4:30am, I was going to do it at 1 but kept getting distracted and then had to sleep and then had to make dinner, so I ended up doing weights at 10:30pm. I transitioned immediately from weights to the elliptical which I knew was a mistake, but now I have enshrined that fact in my recording spreadsheets to NEVER DO THAT AGAIN. I had to put the level on the elliptical low, and then my goal was to make it just to 15 minutes, but I was so close to 150 calories at that point that I just put in the extra minute.

Meanwhile, my knee is still hurting, so I wasn’t even going to do weights today, but I decided that that was yet another excuse, again, and I needed to prove to myself I wasn’t just going to come up with excuses and never do them again. After doing squats, my knee no longer hurt, but it more ached or was sore. But doing that cardio right after weights … yeah, not a good move. I’m also not sure why the calories from weights were so much lower tonight: 220 from 41 minutes, versus 325 from 42 minutes. The weights were only slightly less heavy (90% of the max from Tuesday), but … whatever. Tonight did put me over my goal of 1875 calories from exercise per week, so I’m okay as far as that’s concerned.
