The last two days have not been very good.

So, first off, Monday. I weighed in at 211.5 lbs but dropped to 211.0 before I ate, so I’m accepting that as the weight. It’s 2.3 lbs higher than I want to be, and that sort of threw me off for the day. As did a huge amount of writing, piggy-backing off of 8 hrs of writing on Sunday. And because I was tired, I napped, so I didn’t get to (kept pushing off) weights. And cardio. At least I did get all the writing done I absolutely needed to.
And then, I even went to bed okay, maybe a bit late at 1:30pm, but I was awoken to a shriek at 2:30am by the summer houseguest that there was a rattlesnake in her bathroom. That saga took over 2 hours to deal with because the snake kept moving so couldn’t be captured, then we pinned it and basically bashed its head repeatedly with a 2×4. Then there was cleanup to do. For the record, that’s 3 rattlesnakes in the house in 1 year, plus a bull snake last week. Not too happy about this.

That threw off my sleep, I got up just before noon, and took a 2-hour nap this afternoon. Meaning that to get the work done I needed to get done, I also didn’t lift weights. And, when I got up, I was at 211.2 lbs, which is 2.7 lbs above where I had planned today. Looking back, I am behind honest about my food intake, so the only thing I can think of is that it’s either stress-related (work deadlines), or water intake and retention (it’s hot out and we were without air conditioning). So, I’m writing this part at 10:50pm, and I’m about to go down to do cardio … my goal is at least 1 hour. Bed by 1am, up by 9:30am, and do weights, potentially into (or just plain ol’ during) my first morning telecon at 10:30. That way I can do weights again Friday and Saturday like last week and still claim a success there.
Update at 1:00am, I did 46 minutes on the elliptical. And then had to help look for holes around the outside of the house where snakes might be getting in. It’s 1:10am now, so I’m going to bed. I think an issue is I need to go back to watching TV shows instead of listening to podcasts, since I can stop an audio show at any time, but I’m much more prone to finish watching a show and not turning it off in the middle.
