Daily Summary: 15–16 July, 2020

Hmmm… another two-fer, four days in a row. Not the greatest sign, but I’ll chalk it up to being busy. Yesterday (Wednesday) was a huge deadline, so now that that’s over, most of today (Thursday) was spent recovering and going out to get my license renewed, return a light, do some shopping, and then meetings and nap at home.

That all in mind, yesterday (the 15th), I was again looking for some excuse to not do weights. I’m sorry, but I really hate doing weights. Does anyone? So, then I thought, maybe I’ll just lower the weight a bit and it’ll be easier. So I went downstairs to lift weights thinking that’s what I’d do. And once I got downstairs, I decided that since I was already down there, I might as well just do what I was supposed to do, which is lifting at 100% for 4 sets of 9 reps. So, yay. Food was a tiny bit over, but only by 4% of my goal, so it was within the ±5% margin. I was totally going to do the elliptical, but the boyfriend was having issues going to sleep and finally when he did, I was going to keep him up by doing the elliptical, so I just went to bed.

Same goes today for food, over to 102%, so it was fine. Carbs were relatively low both days, so I made / ate popcorn, which was a nice difference of pace. I also did the elliptical, and even though I was watching a TV show this time, I still just wanted to kill it after 10 minutes. I’m not sure what the issue is these days, I’m much more exhausted after just a little bit of time on the elliptical. I wonder if it’s the adding of the weight lifting, or not doing a warmup on the rower, or it just being summer and HOT out. But I put in my 40 minutes, saw I was 3 calories away from hitting 400, and did an extra 17 seconds to make sure I hit that mark.

Meanwhile, weight yesterday (the 15th) sucked again but finally was back down a bit, but today it crashed down to 208.8*, a 1.9 lb drop. So, there’s an asterisk there: *I didn’t weigh myself until about 2pm, after all the shopping and walking around and a telecon when I got home. I also subtracted 0.6 lbs for the water I had drunk so far for the day, and 0.2 lbs for the food. So, I’m sure the weight will be higher tomorrow, but that was still nice to have as a semi-genuine datum.
