Daily Summary: 19 October, 2020

I’ll say this much about the reduced calories: It’s definitely noticeable. Going down to 1620 wasn’t that big of a deal, but for some reason, 1570 is a much bigger jump.

I think it’s because there’s much less wiggle room. If I make dinner and the chicken’s a bit more than a pound, or I use 300 gm onion instead of 150 gm, suddenly I’m over on something and it’s usually too late in the day to change things (it wasn’t today), but then that trickles through the next few days due to leftovers. So, I had to rejigger the food calendar a bit because dinner had 8gms fat more per serving than planned, but it also had 10gms more protein (I added Chinese sausage, and more tofu). And there was NO food cheating!

I also finally got out for a walk. Apparently 55°F isn’t too cold for me, but it’s the first time I did my walk in a short-sleeved shirt instead of tank top. I walked 2 km, turned around, and came back, so it’s farther than I used to walk for my ≈40-minute cardio since I’m also walking faster these days. VO2 max went down a bit, though, probably because I’ve done nothing for 10 days.

That said, my knee was okay until I started walking down after climbing the first, main hill. It hurt, but was okay enough that I didn’t have to stop and stretch it, so that was good. Still, I didn’t want to risk squatting at 240 lbs, so I did not do weights today. I’m also quite tired, despite getting in over 10 hrs of sleep last night (yay for no meetings until 11am).

All-in-all, a reasonably successful day, and I need to make sure I sleep with that pillow under my knee tonight.
