Daily Summaries: 21–24 October, 2020

As I said awhile ago, it’s really hard to go from not doing daily updates to picking it back up again.

So, let’s see … Wednesday, my knee was hurting again and so I made the decision to just let it rest. Rather that than push through with exercises and do damage, somehow. I kept within my food limits, despite having a high-carb meal (60 gms!!) for one of them (fried rice). Still didn’t cheat.

Thursday, I was notified early in the day by my money admin at work that I needed to send some forms to co-investigators for a grant I’m writing that’s due in a few weeks. The problem is that it includes the period of performance, and I don’t know that yet. So, I had to spend all day (and I mean all day) working on that, and the only parts I didn’t work on that were spent watching fire updates. A fire that was on the other side of the mountains from me grew >50,000 acres and was closing in, and so I had (and have) another evacuation pending.

Which meant that Friday, after a 7-hour teleconference, I spent all of my time doing further cleaning and organizing the house and getting things staged, ready to go, in case the evacuation zone moved closer. The fire itself jumped the Continental Divide and was in Rocky Mountain National Park, so the town of Estes Park was put on mandatory evacuation. That’s about 10 miles from me as the crow flies (so the saying goes).

Saturday, we went grocery shopping and mailed ballots. And I had a thing at night. I was exhausted from the week’s work, the 5 hours of grocer shopping for a month of stuff, putting it away, and then I had a thing at night so I, yet again, did not do any exercise. However, my weight finally is dropping again. I ended the week at 203.3 lbs, which is more than 22 lbs down from my peak in April. So, that was a nice way to end the week.
