So, three updates above for the first three days of this week. I stuck fairly well with the food plan, needing to shift a few things as the days went on. I had left-overs Sunday and then made beef with salsa, which makes four servings and I’ll continue to eat through today, Wednesday. I made chicken biryani on Monday and that’s also something I’ll continue to eat through today, Wednesday. With two main meals set, that makes filling in the gaps a bit easier.
And then there’s the weight lifting, which I have done twice so far this week instead of putting it off. I’ve decided that, for simplicity, while my “real” goal is to lift weights 3×/week, in practice, the goal is to do it every-other-day. That means 3 times in one week and 4 times the next. Why? Because that way, I don’t keep putting it off. As in, I don’t get to Wednesday and freak out that I haven’t lifted weights yet so I need to cram and do it three times in four days. Of course, for various reasons this can be shifted, but we’ll see how it goes.
My sleep schedule? I did so well … for three whole days. 🙄 Then, the bf was working on his 2019 (*cough*) taxes until 2am, so I stayed up. Then, I’m participating in a semi-virtual conference in Sydney, Australia, and I was presenting Monday. My presentation time was 2pm my time Monday, but I hadn’t yet seen how a “Live Q&A” session went, so I stayed up late Sunday night to see that at 1am my time. Then, the last two nights, I was up late because I wanted to finish editing something so I could set computer code that takes several days to run, to run, since it needed what I was doing as partial input. I’m very much hoping to be in bed by 11pm tonight, midnight at the latest. But, I’m still getting roughly 8 hrs of sleep each night, so that’s at least something good.
I’m doing another Apple Watch competition with the bf now that he has one. We’re on Day 5 as I write this post on Wednesday, and I’m beating him. On days he swims (that’s 3 so far including today, Wednesday the 3rd), he is ahead of me in points. But when he doesn’t swim, he’s mostly sedentary, not even trying to fill his rings, so I pull ahead on those days by more than enough to give me a lead overall. He’s not nearly as interested in trying to eke out leads as I am, or the other friend that I compete with. Oh well, it still helps with motivation for me to exercise.
