Daily Summary: 14 March, 2022

And with 9 minutes to midnight … I’ll note that I did “okay” today. I got out walking three times, going a bit farther than the last few weeks up the hill ’til my calfs were burning. I have another unofficial goal of doing “The Loop” in April, but that’ll require my legs not killing me after just walking up these other hills.

(For likely all of you who don’t follow this blog, I live on a dirt road in the mountains of Colorado, and the primary component of the road is a roughly 9.6 km loop that includes about 850 ft of elevation gain. I can either go clockwise or counter-clockwise. When I do these other walks, I go clockwise and turn around at any given point. If I do the loop, I go counter-clockwise. The reason is that the hills are steepest on the West side of the loop (where I live), so I prefer to go down those, and then it’s a slow (and sometimes fast) burn for the bulk of the East and North parts. So you know I’m not just making up the difficulty, the grades are upwards of 30%. The last time I did it was April 25, 2021. It normally takes me 100 minutes, but that time it took me 118, and I had to stop several times. I want to avoid that – I’ve never had to stop on it before.)

Okay, two minutes to midnight. I didn’t do core exercises today because I got wrapped up in work and then my decompress, where the decompress went too long and I over-ate on ice cream that I’m partially counting on Tuesday. I had also intended to do weights, but then skipped because … excuses.

Oh, and Apple came out with their new OSs today, which include the all-important bean emoji! So, I’ve added that to my relevant meal planning.

Oh, and my weight dropped again today, –2.5 lbs in 3 days. Totally water weight, but it helps with motivation. I also slept a bit better, but still woke up a few times. I think one issue is that we replaced the sheets and the new ones are much softer, which I don’t really like, and are hard to get used to.
