Daily Update: 17 July, 2022

Welp, the extra effort yesterday paid off and I was 2.5 lbs below my weigh-in yesterday when I stepped on the scale today. Totally (or majority) is almost certainly water weight, but I’ll take it.

I was doing a tiny bit of inventory today, and I definitely need to lose more weight sooner rather than later: I’m nearing the end of the line of my fat underwear. Yup, I’ve tried to swear off of buying any new clothing until I’ve lost the weight I want, and I’m down to 6 sets of underwear from the 10 I got about 3 years ago (these “32° Cool” brand boxerbriefs at Costco last a long time). But, I’m noticing some thin areas and while a pack of underwear is less than a shirt, I have several Large-size that are just waiting for me to be able to fit into them, so … additional (tiny) motivation.

Moving along, food today was pretty good. Fat was very low because the orange chicken has basically no added fat to it, so the only fat is the ≈4% weight in the chicken breast itself. I tried to come up with other things to eat to fill out the fat today, but almost all of them had a fair bit of carbs, and I was over my limit on that. So, today was just low.

For exercise, I did the minimum to get my full points for ≥40 minutes in a day. It was very hot, still nearly 85°F at sundown, so I didn’t walk but just headed to the basement around 9pm to “Just Do It” and, well, I did. I also went up a level of resistance on the elliptical to try to get my calories per minute back up: It was 9.1 cal/min at the beginning of the month, but it’s fallen to about 8.1 cal/min. Meanwhile, the rower is really just to get the variation in there, and to act as some stretching for weight lifting, for it is the worst of my cardio at efficiency: 6.3–6.5 cal/min.

Trying to roll back the sleep schedule, since I again went to bed very late, but I got up after my 8hrs, I didn’t nap, and now I’m headed to bed before 10:30pm, five hours earlier than, well, this morning. And although the bf agreed to do the same, well, he didn’t, and is still up fell asleep on the futon watching TV while I was working out. That’s a separate issue.
