Daily Summary: 18–19 August, 2020

Oy. Still not doing well with the death of my colleague, which is really surprising because I’m not an emotional person.

Tuesday, due to various reasons, I didn’t end up doing weights until nearly 8pm, and then for some reason pad won sen takes me two hours to crank out because of all the prep work. Mine is like an “everything” dish, with tofu and chicken, eggs, and then cabbage, broccoli, carrots, water chestnuts, bamboo (I left out baby corn this time), and scallions, and the prep work just takes forever. So I didn’t eat until 11:30, which meant that there was no cardio afterwards. I did go up slightly on weight for my underhand rows, and so the weights this week will set what I do for the next five:

  • Squats: 205 lbs
  • Benchpress: 135 lbs
  • Underhand Bent-Over Rows: 125 lbs
  • Overhead Press: 80 lbs
  • Deadlifts: 155 lbs (I could do more, but I HATE this exercise)
  • Biceps Curls: 70 lbs
  • Calf Raises: 115 lbs

So, I did my cardio today, which itself was also late (started 11:25pm) and I had to stop part-way through. My knee was feeling funny, like a tingling sensation running through my left leg focused on my knee (not pain, almost like very slightly falling asleep), so given that I was also a bit dehydrated, I thought it would behoove me to stop since I filled my rings and recoop’ overnight. Meanwhile, food was okay today, too, except all the romaine lettuce I had gotten at the store was moldy, but fortunately I had extra spinach so I had a spinach-based salad tonight. And I’ll have another tomorrow.

But, I’m still kinda walking around in a daze, accomplishing very little. We had a somewhat emergency meeting of the executive council of a board I’m on to discuss the colleague’s death, since they were a founder of the group, and what steps we needed to take going forward. As part of that, I was, unfortunately, moved up from backup meeting coordinator to the meeting coordinator … the job is fine, I just wish it were on better terms.
