The thing about meal planning, which I’ve talked about as a “must do” for me before so that I don’t go randomly eating and lose track, is that you have to be flexible enough to adjust. So, tonight was another of those nights, based on all the left-overs still in the ‘fridge: I had salad instead of making Greek chicken, and I rolled forward the changes so I’m planned out another week.
Food aside, it was another hot day today and this weekend is going to be worse, with highs around 97° both days. Like, I’m actually going to finally use the air conditioning. If I don’t get up by 6am to bike tomorrow, I’m not going to do it, and already that would mean <7 hrs of sleep. So, we’ll see.
Due to the heat and another lack-of-motivation day (plus nap day), I opted to walk about 20 minutes before sunset. It was going great, I paused a few times to take photos of some really amazing storm clouds, and I even got to the top of The Hill in 7 seconds less time than last time (likely due to the ~5 stops I made en route so I was also able to slightly recover). And then, I had, shall we say, “digestive distress.” Picture it: You’re 240 ft up from your house, more than a kilometer away, and it’s coming out regardless of where you are. So, I walked quickly down the hill, house in sight, and ran the rest of the way. Let’s just leave it at that.
Because my walk was cut short, I did not get the requisite calories burned to close my move ring on my Watch. So, while checking on computer runs in the basement, I did a few minutes on the rower and a few minutes on the elliptical to close that ring. At least I didn’t cheat!
One reason I tried to be tight today is because my weight is slightly creeping up, and while I met my goal for the week, I want to try to end the week tomorrow with a loss rather than gain.
