Daily Updates: 28–29 July, 2022

Writing this one on Saturday afternoon, I’m clearly slightly behind, but I was doing daily updates for over a month so I’m going to call that a “win.”

That said, several things were not “wins” on Thursday and Friday. First off, weight. Still high. Well, still not going down. I “cheated” on Friday in that the bf went swimming at 7am again so I went with him, I walked 6km, we went to my work, didn’t get back home ’til 3:30pm, at which point I weighed myself after basically not eating nor drinking much for the previous 8 hours. Got a new minimum of 220.5 lbs. But writing this on Saturday, I can say it’s back up to 221.8 lbs. Grr…

Food was also an issue on Friday, that all said. I found myself sneaking gummi bears, so I counted them. I was only going to eat one doughnut but I had my usual two. I had corn while cleaning out the refrigerator. Without cheating, that upped me to around 1910 calories and it put me over on fat and carbs. Fortunately, I’m not going to go over on the week.

Exercise was also a mixed bag! I walked up the hill on Thursday with the bf in the evening, and it took me an extra 40 seconds longer than it has; I suspect that’s because he was slower than I and I subconsciously slowed down. A few hours later, I did an elliptical warmup for weights, did weights, great. Friday, as I said, I walked 6km while the bf swam for an hour. Great. But my VO2 max was back down, again. It’s still above where it was two months ago, and again I said in the last post I suspect it’s settling a bit to get closer to that, but it’s still demoralizing on top of the weight not-loss.

The way out of this plateau is paved with tightening things up and keeping up with the exercise. I might go on a mini-extra-diet for a day or two, lowering calories by ~300 or so, to see if that helps, also. Starting next week.

At least I got work done this week?
